Many people are familiar with the discomfort and awkward appearance of metal braces. If you have misaligned teeth, you may be postponing a visit to your dentist because you don’t want these irritating brackets in your mouth.

Fortunately, you now have another option. Invisible braces called Invisalign is the comfortable and affordable orthodontic option to treat your over-, under, or crossbite, as well as teeth with uneven spaces or large gaps. Invisalign works for people of all ages, and, since they are clear, they don’t have any effect on your appearance.

Why Should You Choose Invisalign?

The most significant benefit of Invisalign is that it is a transparent thermoplastic material that has a much less prominent appearance than conventional metal braces. The clear aligners are also more comfortable than metal ones since they are softer and smaller.

Invisalign features modern technology that gives your dental health care provider better insight into your treatment. You will have a clear idea of how your treatment is progressing. You will also know how long you will have to wait before seeing results. Treatment typically ranges 18-24 months, however, we offer consultations to ensure that we give you the most accurate and customized estimate possible.

The biggest frustration of traditional metal braces is that the wearer has to avoid certain foods to prevent the accumulation of food particles or damage to the brackets. With Invisalign, however, you can take the aligner out of your mouth when you eat, and you can eat whatever you want.

Plaque that sticks to your teeth can harden to form tartar. Food particles that accumulate in the brackets can cause the formation of plaque, which is incredibly difficult to remove. By the time your braces are out, you have to undergo extensive cleaning to prevent tooth decay and cavities.

Because you can remove your Invisalign aligners, keeping your teeth clear of plaque is not a problem. Simply take the aligner out after every meal, brush your teeth, clean the aligner, and put it back in your mouth.

How to Start Your Invisalign Treatment

Schedule an appointment with your dentist. During the session, the dentist will conduct a thorough examination to determine what the problem is with your teeth. They will also make sure that an Invisalign is the most suitable treatment.

If your dentist finds that an Invisalign is to the best way to move forward, they will x-ray your teeth and make an impression of your teeth. They will then proceed to customize an aligner to match your teeth.

You may have to wear multiple aligners as your progress with your treatment. Your dentist will give you specific instructions on how you should wear them. You can expect to wear the aligner for around 22 hours per day for few weeks, but the duration depends on the condition of your teeth and the prescribed treatment.

To measure your progress, you will have to schedule regular check-ups with your dentist. At specific stages, you will receive a new set of aligners. When you reach the end of your treatment, your teeth will be in perfect alignment for the rest of you live.
